Took my daughter for a hair cut to the lovely hairdressers facing Wilko. As we got to Bolton early we decided to pop into Amico Cafe for breakfast. Fantastic, lovely atmosphere, and the best breakfast i'd had in a long time. Regular full English... could not fault it at all, and my daughter had the pancakes.. highly recommended... keep it up guys. Very impressed..

Lovely food. Had to wait ages though as it was quite busy. When we mentioned it had been a 40 minute wait they gave us a free coffee but obviously weren’t pleased as when we said thanks and goodbye we were ignored. We won’t be going back as it’s not just about the food it’s about the service too.

Came here on Sunday, forgot to leave a review. We was a table of 4 and had breakfast and the food was amazing, the place is nicely furnished I didn't feel like I was in bolton, I felt like I was in Manchester. We was served by Summer I think and she was really polite and patient with us, definitely be coming again. Thank you 😊Food: 5/5  |  Service: 5/5  |  Atmosphere: 5/5

We visited Amico this morning for breakfast, and it doesn't disappoint. My partner and I both had the ciabatta rolls for breakfast, and for paying an extra £2 each (compared to the pre-made garbage you see in e.g. costa coffee), it's totally worth it. The drinks we great too, I had a flat white which tasted great. The latte art was not there, but that didn't bother me. The manager (I think) was welcoming and pleasant too, as I gave my order to him at the till. In terms of constructive feedback, there are a couple of things that's worth mentioning.

If you're having food and you are sat at a table for two, you may struggle to find places to put your drinks to one side... this was obvious as our waitress was struggling to find enough space when giving us our food. Further to this, although someone had checked in on us upon arrival and when delivering drinks and food, nobody had checked in to ask if our food was okay. It was, but we needed more ketchup, and my partner had to get up to ask. On a side note, after we finished our meal, one staff member had put a fresh set of cutlery and didnt bother to take our finished plates away. I didnt care about this, however it may give others the impression that the staff are trying to kick the customers out. The only other thing that I think would be a quick fix would be to turn down the music... at times I had to speak a little louder than usual.

Overall, a good experience, and we hope to return with these little improvements in mind!

Although this is a great place for food and good service the whole experience is ruined by one thing, the large group of regulars who sit right outside the front door continuously smoking. Sitting outside on a nice day can be very unpleasant when they are all puffing away nursing a coffee for hours on end. There are usually 5 or 6 of them, all older people, sometimes with a very unfortunate child having to share all their secondary smoke. What is worse though is having to sit inside the cafe with this group smoking constantly right outside the door, every time the door open wafts of stale smoke are blown in, or in warmer weather when the door is kept open a constant stream of stink enters making is very unpleasant for anyone sitting downstairs. The management really needs to ask them to sit further away from the door, or perhaps make the tables outside non smoking as many other places are now doing. A few smoking tables could be provided further away from the front door.

Brunch with my mother-in-law and we both chose Ciabattas from the lunch dishes.
I had the BBQ Pulled Pork Ciabatta and my mother-in-law had the Avocado BLT Ciabatta. Both were absolutely delicious and had plenty of meat in them. The overall portions were very generous and we were both glad we opted out of having chips as a side
Young, enthusiastic staff who couldn't do enough to help us (my mother-in-law uses a wheelchair).Highly recommended.

I've been going to Amico for years now before the upstairs area was created. I've always enjoyed the food, the service, and the venue. Unfortunately, it seems to have gone slowly downhill over the years.

I recently had brunch with my family (3 of us) and was thoroughly looking forward to it.

We were sat upstairs as it was a busy Saturday morning, this is understandable. Strangely, we were sat on a 2 person table when there was 3 of us (2 adults + a toddler). This ended up being a big problem as 3 plates on 1 small table with a toddler wasn't great.

The service was slow. We waited around 10 minutes to get served which, when you have a toddler, feels like forever.

The food arrived relatively quickly which was good. We ordered a regular breakfast, Turkish eggs and halloumi, and a kids pasta.

The kids pasta arrived in a huge bowl on a massive plate - not exactly brilliant for a toddler, especially on a small table.

The regular breakfast was piled up on a plate. This is good as there was a lot of food, however, I didn't have anywhere to cut any of the food up - no room on the plate. The scrambled eggs were ok but they were missing some seasoning. The baked beans were slightly bland.

The Turkish eggs and halloumi were good but the eggs were overdone and the halloumi was underdone.

My toddler also had a babyccino which tasted very sweet and came in an adult sized mug - that's far too much for such a small person.

The venue itself is very nice however there's too many tables in there and not enough room. The music was very loud as well - not exactly great when I'm trying to eat my food and have a conversation.

In conclusion, I think Amico still has great potential, however, it's far too busy. If there were more staff in a larger venue a lot of the problems above probably wouldn't occur. We would have been served faster, been sat at a better table with more room, and the food would have been better as there would have been more time to focus on it.

I hope to have a better experience next time.
