Fantastic charity which really puts young people at the front and centre of what they do alongside side caring for their staff. Open door policy throughout for residents and staff alike. I've worked for 3 similar organisations and they couldn't go anywhere near in comparison

BACKUP are an amazing company to work for. I have worked for them for over 2 years now and I have to say its been fab :) There are lots of positive outcomes regarding move ons , including attending university. Staff who work for BACKUP are dedicated and do a fantastic job :)

The commitment to supporting homeless young people and giving the best service every day is something that can be seen in every member of staff at Backup. I have never worked in an organisation where the desire to do the best you possibly can is so visible; everyone sets themselves high standards and expects their colleagues to do the same - and more than that, they actually deliver. Young people receive an extremely high quality service and everyone - Support Workers, Project Managers, Fundraisers, staff in Central Services, Senior Managers and Trustees - measures their success in the difference they make to the lives of the homeless young men and women that approach the charity for help.
I know this isn't a completely objective review (since I work at Backup !) - but I absolutely love the charity, everything it does and everything it stands for.

I have done a lot of work across the charity sector in Bolton. When their amazing CEO, Maura Jackson, asked me to help set up the guardianship scheme I didn’t hesitate - in fact I became one of the first guardians. Bolton would be a far poorer place without this incredible charity..Not only does it house young people at risk of homelessness it gives them hope. It encourages, enables and equips them to reach their full potential. They have staff members who were former residents. I was delighted to read in the latest annual report of a young person who moved right through every stage and has just moved into independent housing and university education whilst managing autism. Hats off to you amazing people - not going to call you staff members because I know this is a calling, a vocation not just a job. God bless you and all the Backup residents ❤️🙏🏼

I have worked at Backup both in a self employed capacity and as a bank worker. They offer high quality care to young people facing homelessness. The staff I have encountered genuinely care about the young people they work with. The support package they offer young people is amazing. I've worked at 3 charities throughout the pandemic and Backup is my no 1.

Having observed Backup and the work they did for a few years I became a trustee and did almost 6 years, in this time I witnessed first hand the amazing work that takes place on a daily basis. A wonderful, ethical, values based charity that strives to improve young people’s lives.

I love working at Backup they treat all their staff as a valued member and not just a number, every one goes above and beyond to help the young people gain knowledge and experience in independent living and their mental health is addressed professionally. The young people go on to spread their wings and live in the community fully supported by Backup
