Starting to show its age - rooms need proper refurbishment and redecorating. Insufficient plugs (none by bedside), no air con, tired and worn carpets are the sort of things I would expect paying less than half the price.

Wow! What a great hotel Bolton Whites is! We had a great stay for three nights. While
there we enjoyed the room very much, breakfast everyday and the parents enjoyed the room and staff at the bar by night. The view of the pitch from the hotel is amazing and I hope to return one day to stay for a game. The hotel was clean, well kept and close to everything. The staff was amazing. Margaret, Kelsey and Alice in particular took fantastic care of us during our stay. We hope to visit again soon.

Nice rooms and an option to upgrade to a suit with outlook over Bolton Wanderers football ground, suits are very large with enormous bathrooms, two rooms with two flat screen tvs' although some of the furniture has seen better days (a bed sofa ) if it was mine would have gone on the tip a long time ago.
Great relax center free to hotel guests well worth the money

Nice overnight stay to spend quality time with my partner. The hotel was clean and just round the corner and up a few steps gets you to an array of eating places. You can also shop as it is a large industrial shopping park.

Excellent service, friendly with all the amenities you could desire. I would have no hesitation in recommending this venue to friends and colleagues. The location is easy to get to and close to pubs and restaurants in the vicinity.

Lovely room and feels more individual than if you are used to the homogeneous Premier Inns. Outside of football season is good value. We paid £69 room only on a Saturday night. Did not use bar or restaurant as we went out locally.

I have honestly lost count of the number of times I have stayed in this hotel, nearly always booking directly, yet every time I arrive I am asked if I have stayed before.

A minor point, however, I recently visited a hotel in Crete where I had stayed 5 years previously and was thanked upon check-in for my return visit! Not quite sure why Bolton Whites can't recognise repeat guests.

During our recent visits we have noticed the hotel seems to be in steady decline, and I don't believe they should continue to market it as a luxury hotel.

It's little things that are missing which make a difference to the customer experience - no longer any tissues, complimentary water, face cloths etc. provided in the rooms. My bed wobbled and would 'travel' across the floor at the slightest movement, mattresses were sagging in the middle and the rooms were ridiculously hot.

We used the leisure facilities and noticed these too to be in decline - lockers still require an old £1 coin and don't accept the new ones. Yes, reception will give you an old one if you ask, but it would be helpful to know this before undressing and changing into my swimming costume. Costume spinners were broken on our last visit and we notice they've now been removed rather than replaced. Missing tiles in jacuzzi, pool etc.

From reading other reviews I can see that the FOH Manager has acknowledged that the bedrooms are in need of refurbishment and that this is high on the agenda. However, given that guests cannot even any longer charge items to their room due to the withdrawal of credit facilities due to an ongoing dispute, and the general financial situation of Bolton Wanderers/Bolton Whites Limited, I cannot see any significant investment being forthcoming.

It is my honest opinion that the long term survival of this hotel as a 4 star establishment can only be assured by selling it back to a corporate chain who are willing/financially secure enough to input the investment required.

On the subject of action needed to preserve a 4 star status, it is also my personal opinion that the lady who was eating breakfast in her dressing gown this morning should have been requested by restaurant staff to return when she was more appropriately dressed!!

On a positive note, Andie from the housekeeping team was very helpful, cheerful and a joy to meet.

We stayed at the hotel because of a family wedding. We were invited to the night do so we checked in at 2pm to be able to use the facilities which were lovely. It was a shame that on the website it didn't say they had a spa and a salon because I really would of liked to book a back massage and wash and blow dry. The staff were lovely. The rooms weren't immaculate but were okay.

Stayed for several days in July with a group. Hotel staff is very friendly. I would give five stars if there were AC. Heat wave made the rooms unbearably hot for sleeping and made for tired days.
They did give us a fan to use during the stay but window barely opens and it just blew hot air. No vent in the bathroom which made the entire room like a sauna after showering.
Breakfast is the exact same every day but with lots of choices.
Did not order food other than meals provided as part of our meal plan.
Nice shopping plaza adjacent to hotel with a Nandos.
Air Conditioning is a must for our family when traveling.

It was a really nice hotel. I didn't get a view of the pitch which would have been interesting. Unfortunately, I had been up for a job interview the night before I arrived and fell asleep for most my visit. It's near plenty of shops and restaurants too. I would revisit.

My eldest son had his wedding at the Bolton Whites hotel on Saturday the 2121st of July.we couldn't have chosen a better venue, from arriving to leaving the hotel staff were excellent. The actual wedding service was held in a very pleasant room and then the wedding lunch was held in the Chairman's suite, this was set out perfectly for the number of guests in attendance. The food was excellent along with the service. The evening entertain was set in the platinum suite with an excellent DJ,the evening buffet was also excellent and plentiful.I would recommend this venue as excellent value for money

The room was smaller than I had expected / The washroom/bathroom was not as clean I as i expected for a 4 star hotel, i was expecting a view of the stadium from my bedroom as i was told when a rang in to confirm , We were actually facing the carriageway/carpack.

The hotel is obviously well located if you are at an event in the stadium. The rooms are basic but clean as they should be. No air con or heating in the rooms, but they do provide a fan. For me the hotel in parts is ready for an update some of the carpet and furniture in the communal areas are stained and worn. The services was pleasant but the menu in the restaurant on the evening we attended, was very limited - because there was an event in in the evening - not sure why this should matter? Indeed on these evening there’s even more of a reason to have the full menu options available because I’d expect demand to be high before the event? I’ve attached a copy of the menu for the night which is very basic and not suitable for me as a vegan. That said they did me a salad, which was ok. I’d stay again if I was visiting the stadium because there’s nowhere else close and it’s convenient. However if there were alternatives I would try somewhere else . I’m not sure it’s value for money but there’s no alternative close by. Please think about your menu, we would have liked a nice meal rather than what was essentially fast food before the concert that we attended. Bear in mind this was also a Saturday night!

Stayed at Whites Hotel for The Kilers concert . It was excellent. Extre security checks were carried out respectfully and efficiently, checking in was friendly and professional. The room was a total surprise as we had been allocated a penthouse suite which was lovely surprise, it was fabulous. Evening meal before show was great with Matt kindly sorting gluten free option for my wife. Easy to walk round stadium to get in gig. Couple of glasses champagne when we returned to hotel were very nice at reasonable price. Good nights sleep and great breakfast ended a most enjoyable stay. All the staff are very friendly and professional, a real credit to the Hotel.

Room I shared with my boys was only cooled with a small fan. We found it very difficult to sleep. The food in the Grill Restaurant was not great and the price was high for the quality of the meal and the service was very slow.

Hotel looks more impressive than it actually is. Public areas are modern clean and welcoming. Rooms don't have aircon and could do with small upgrade but on the whole a very pleasant stay. Good breakfast with plenty of choice

Hotel and staff were very good and made this stay a very good trip indeed, they looked after me from arriving at reception, to evening meal and checking out. The ironing board and iron made it difficult to use as the plug sockets were not located very well for this. The facilities were good and the distance to where I was working was also very good. They did a great job looking after me throughout my stay and I would recommend to anyone.

On the whole nothing really major to complain about. Room was fine, a little dated for me but lovely and clean. Although there was no AC, there was a fan and the open window let me get a breeze to the room.

Bar service was good, function food was good and enjoyable, tasted better than it looked.

Excellent breakfast. Loved the fresh coffee and super service from staff.

Room was dated.
Younger restaurant staff seem unpleasant.
Not a pleasant smell in the room as I entered.
Reception staff in particular jorden was very helpful.
If you're a vegetarian there's not a great deal of choice for breakfast at £10 person

The position of this hotel is excellent for shopping at Middlebrook and access to the motorways. The pool area was disappointing, but I had an excellent massage in the spa. The rooms and public areas are a bit shabby. Value for money though...
