The hotel is in a good location with all facilities and has a good circulation area albeit stairs everywhere. The food is adequate but the menu is limited. The rooms are comfy but tired, torn wallpaper, dirty windows, dirty toilet, shower and bath edges etc. Room service is lacking, I ended up having to go to reception for missing things on the hospitality tray.

We stayed at the hotel on the night of our wedding. I telephoned in the morning to confirm the reservation was all OK, and to explain that we would be arriving to check in at the end of our wedding day. The lady I spoke to kindly confirmed the details and explained that she would note us down as a late arrival. It would have been nice however if she had in some way acknowledged our special day!
Likewise, when we arrived to check-in at around 00:45am , the gentleman at reception who processed our details very kindly explained directions to the room and timing of breakfast etc. But it would have been nice if he'd at least acknowledged with a 'congratulations' of some sort, which would seem the natural response to offer when a bride and groom turn up at your hotel! As a result, we found the experience rather impersonal and somewhat disappointing, and would recommend passing on this feedback to the front desk staff.

Me and my family go every Christmas to this hotel and it is so welcoming! The staff are lovely, attentive and helpful. The rooms are great for people with big or small families. Can’t wait to go back this Christmas!

We usually stay at Whites when visiting family as not too expensive (usually find a good deal), good location, about the best in the area (not too many 4* options in the area).

Rooms (car park side) - clean, tidy, stayed a few times & décor could do with refreshing.

Service - at breakfast time looked after very well by the waiting on staff 4.5 out of 5. Bar area ordered toastie for lunch & had to wait longer than expected, also very quiet at time?

Food - lunch (toastie came fries, crisps, drink of juice) very nice if a bit pricey £12.50. Breakfast selection very good although disappointed with the hot cooked food. Sausage , egg, bacon were cold both days so left and stuck to continental style (1st day food covered cause very quiet but 2nd day was busy so need to renew more regular?).
Handy for shopping retail park.
Boxers seem to be resident when in training? (khan / fury camps) so can be spotted in/around the hotel.

Overall 3.5 out of 5 always a pleasant stay, would always choose in this area if you can find on offer, would benefit from freshening up. Very good in parts but Room for improvement in others.

The receptionist was very welcoming and friendly. The layout of the hotel, at the grounds of Bolton Wanderers, is very modern and chic. There are chairs and couches to make a snack or drink into a very pleasant experience. Sadly the hotel is quite noisy. During my stay there were a few groups and frankly the sound of slamming doors all night was a pain. A few signs asking guests to respect the bedroom area and keep quiet may just make all the difference.

For a modern hotel I was surprised it did not come the air conditioning. The room was well appointed with matching furniture and plenty of wardrobe space. An iron and board were standard as was a trouser press. As usual one could only open the window slightly to prevent falling. I would imagine in the summer it can get quite hot, hence a fan in the room. Toiletries were nice and large towels but the bathroom let this room down. There was a significant amount of mould around the bath and my colleagues reported the same. A bleach spay would have resolved this. I don’t think the floor tile joins were great and harboured some dirt. Also the door had clearly seen better days with the bottom of the door quite uneven where it has been scrapped as its been opened.

In the morning, where I had to open the window to cool the room I was woken by the beer delivery.

The restaurant was very good. I had the salmon to start and the fillet steak. My colleagues said their food was also good.

The also offer a good breakfast however one toaster and one coffee machine wasn’t enough when a party of youths came in and everyone had to queue.

This could be really a special place with a few minor changes. I found the one in Worcester much better

I came on a business trip and was really impressed by Whites Bolton. It's a beautiful hotel, with warm friendly staff and fabulous food! My room was immaculate. Would certainly stay again- and intend to do so!

This was our first stay at your hotel due to attending a function there. The room was lovely and the staff were very friendly. The only fault I had was the pillows were quite hard and so I didn't have a very good night's sleep! We had a great night though and would definitely stay again in the future.

Extractor fan and heated towel rail not working - not the end of the world but equally could do better. Our biggest gripe was with the poor quality pillows which were just lumps of foam. Definitely led to poor sleep and woke with headaches (No alcohol involved!) My advice - take your own!

Having stayed here before for football purposes (the away entrance is 30 yards from the hotel), family members stayed overnight to take in the mighty BCFC playing Bolton. As usual all staff were extremely professional and friendly (Alison and Nicky on reception when booking and checking in etc) and we had a very enjoyable experience. The hotel is well maintained and all rooms are clean and well equipped.Breakfast was very reasonably priced and fresh with various options.Whilst we did not use the Reflections restaurant on this occasion, it has always been a first class facility.Fully recommend hotel to anyone.P.S.WE WON!

We stayed here in a large corner flag room for the weekend our team were playing here - The value and experience were exceptional from start to finish.
Our welcome upon arrival was excellent, with the receptionist keen to talk about our stay, fully engaging our young daughter in the process.
Our room was exceptionally clean and well presented, and proved real value for money as we were able to see the matchday preparations at first hand - A unique experience for any football fan

Quality room, good food, friendly staff and great massage arranged in the evening when the day is normally closed so appreciated the therapist being flexible. Room service charge was very reasonable and as i was travelling alone i appreciated this as i didn't need to go to the bar/restaurant and was tired after a long journey.

we had a great stay in the pitch side room, and the meals were very good, including the superb breakfast. we will be back next year to again experience the atmosphere. we also found that the location was brilliant for shopping all around the area to the ground. plus, the easy access from the motorway to and from the Hotel was very good, and most welcoming after a long journey. and finally the great service from all staff was excellent. thanks.

My company thought they paid my room, so the reception sent a form for my company to fill out and sort out the payment. The reception still let me check in, which is very professional: I've already encountered the same issue in the past, and some hotels made that experience awful (e.g. refusing to let me check in until they hear back from my company), whereas the Bolton Whites hotel handled the misunderstanding very well.

The hotel was quiet that night. My room was spacious and classy, I liked the blue colour. However, when I pulled the curtains, I had a awkward surprise: the room view is on... the hotel hallway. It's the first time I got such a room, I was shocked and found it funny at the same time. There were lots of storage, a coffee/tea service and an iron in the room.

The bathroom was also spacious, but looked a bit worn, I wasn't impressed: the bedroom was majestic, whereas the bathroom was totally basic, the difference was noticeable. Everything was still working, though. The bed was very comfortable, and my sleep wasn't bothered despite the awkward window.

I dined at The Grill. The waitress who served me all long was very nice and professional, the place was comfortable.

The Lancashire squash soup with a pumpkin seed relish was simple but delicious. I wish the Dukesmoor beef tartare with charcoal mayonnaise was a main, because the starter portion is small, while I enjoyed it. It was slightly different from most French tartares, but still enjoyable. I'm not sure toasts was a good side to accompany it, maybe softer bread would work better? The sauce was very special, it tasted like the black Vietnamese sauce, bringing back some unexpected memories.

I had some tea to finish. The tea pot was very well-design: a transparent tea pot letting you see all the tea colour and the leaves. It was also the first time I saw tea served with lemon and honey... very thoughtful! Most restaurants just put sugars and milk, but here was perfect.

The breakfast is a buffet, mixing English and continental breakfast. Although the choice is large, for dining several times in Ireland, I can say the food quality isn't as great as the Irish breakfast: the main heroes (sausages, hash browns, etc.) were present but the taste didn't equal the Irish. It's still probably fine for most people, though, and was still good, but not as good as the Irish.

Overall, excellent hotel, nice staff, nice room, nice food, but maybe ask for another room than the ones with the hallway view, unless you're okay having the curtains closed all the time, and hopefully you've never had Irish breakfast before.

An enjoyable stay but some inconsistencies. Staff were generally friendly and helpful but there were some inconsistencies around what could and couldn't be charged to the room, why did reception say the credit card could be left open but then told later that this couldn't be used to order wine for the table at the function, particularly as I used the same credit card to pay?

The rooms are just a bit dated. Don't get me wrong, they are very functional and they have just about everything (apart from a minibar or complementary bottled water), but all of that cheap wood trim on the units just reminds me of a Premier Inn. Also the cold stone slab floor in the bathroom with no supplied slippers or dressing gowns will be a deal breaker for some.

Otherwise the hotel just about has it all. A fantastic bar and restaurant, fitness suite, swimming pool, sauna, steam room, its just great. The breakfast has enough to keep most English people happy with a full English and cereals, pastries, breads, fruit, etc., though continentals may be missing some cold meats, cheeses, boiled eggs, salad, etc.

Personally I'd stay here again because there are so many positives, but I'd be so much happier if they gave the rooms the refurbish that they deserve.

We went over for a surprise birthday party for a family member and we found this hotel to be one of the best places to stay. From the Reception Staff to all the other staff were so friendly and helpful with everything we needed. As a Coeliac, you can eat here but they do warn of cross contamination but I had no problem with the food, which was delicious. The bedrooms are so spacious with extremely comfortable spacious beds and the bathrooms again are very spacious with an extremely powerful shower. We stayed in a room that overlooked the stadium and it looked amazing. We cannot fault this hotel whatsoever and would highly recommend you stay when visiting Bolton.

Easy access, nice food, good standard of accommodation. Stayed here many times and never had a problem. Great if you are visiting anywhere in Lancashire as the motorway is less than a mile away from the free parking. Supermarket and retail park on the door step.

Bar food is well above the standard fare at most hotels. Well worth a try...but avoid the toastie zzzzzzz On match days this place is absolutely bursting at the seams, but 5 mins before kick off - it empties totally. The Arnold Bennet omelette is lovely, the tea is really good...

Great stay with Bolton Whites on a Monday evening. The hotel has a great location very accessible and plenty of parking outside the front door making it easy to get in to the building with your luggage.

Check in took no time at all and whilst the staff were efficient they were not informative or engaging.

I checked in earlier than the time specified as there as a room ready. The rooms are large, spacious, modern & bathrooms clean, spacious and of course provide shampoo & conditioner even though only miniature in size. Towels were soft and plenty.

The room was on the 1st floor which also is the main bar area. The bar is vast and covers from side to side of the hotel. My room overlooked the car park but I am aware some rooms will look over the pitch - a must for any football fan I am sure.

The bar service was far superior to that of front desk & the team remembered the drinks you liked, kept a check in to see if you required anything else as I worked from there for the remainder of the day and into the early evening.

I headed to bed about 9pm and the place was fairly quiet. The room had a small heater and was extremely cold - this is the only criticism and of course, I am female so not a problem for most!! Bed was extremely comfy & no noise which was a bonus.

Check out was drop the key and run, no questions about service or stay.
