Returned with friends after staying for business for a conference, mainly because I didn’t get to spend much time in the spa or visit the shops in the cute street behind first time around. Staff on check in kept me waiting a while, chatting amongst themselves but were friendly enough. Bedroom was lovely and spacious , en-suite and WiFi. The breakfast area was busy and had to wait a while but food was lovely. Seemed to be supervisors shouting at staff which I wasn’t keen on.

The staff on the Spa / Leisure club reception area are lovely and welcoming, couldn’t do enough for us. One of the young girls helped me out with recommendations for the cinemas in the town as I am not from the area and recommended some lovely products to purchase from ESPA range. I didn’t book the treatments but will be booking a spa day for me and my friends in the future after they sounded so good. It’s always refreshing to see some good product knowledge.

The jacuzzi and sauna area is lovely and they have a pool that looks outside. It’s a shame that the view to the right is a crane and buildings.
All in all a lovely stay and I will return but if I’m honest I wouldn’t stay if the spa / leisure club was not there as this is for me one of the main reasons for coming.

Plenty of parking and in a lovely setting.

Great little retreat Lovely setting, rooms spacious and clean, breakfast was excellent Stayed here for a wedding so didn’t get chance to use the spa on the day, enquired to use it the second day after checkout to be told we’d have to pay to use the spa, but nonsensical really when it had been impossible for us to use it the day previous. Only real downside.

Superb Breakfast was great. As it was mid week we got to order from the a la carte which was great. Loved my courtyard room this time, however there was a draught under the door, needed to deploy a towel as a draught excluder.

Absolutely amazing Hydro pool, village atmosphere, comfy beds, spotlessly clean. Friendly staff This place is amazing, really stunning, would recommend to anyone. It's a gorgeous little village within the hotel with pubs and shops. The spa facilities are gorgeous and the hydro pool is an experience.

Very good The facilities were lovely and then rooms are brilliant. Very clean, very spacious and the shower is amazing! The staff could of been a lot more friendly. Waited for my order to be taken at breakfast for 10 minutes with the staff taking other people's orders Check out was fine although the girl on the desk wasn't looking at me while going through the process. I just found the staff rude. It's such a shame as it's such a lovely place.

We took our 2 dogs and 2 children for an overnight stay here. The staff were very friendly, we all enjoyed the pool and spa. There was a problem with our room and they arranged for us to have an additional room without any problems. A lovely place

Superb I was on business over the weekend with early 7 am starts Saturday and Sunday over the weekends there are many functions on with residents returning to their rooms late night so it gets very noisy if you are in the main block.

We recently went on a living social deal here.
The room was reasonably clean and spacious and part of the main hotel, which made using the spa and other facilities much better.
Some rooms are outside in the courtyard, which means a trip outside to get to the main hotel. Okay in summer but not so nice in winter.
A robe and slippers are provided for use to and from the spa.
The spa has a large swimming pool, which also caters for the local community swimming lessons.
There is also a separate area with 4 steam room and saunas and a thermal pool that has a seating area and jacuzzi area. It was warmer than I have the bath but lovely to be able to look out and have the fresh outside air. Its a shame that the outlook is now over a building site! There is also a gym.
There is a treatment area upstairs and there is a lift for the less able bodied.
We also had two 20 minute treatments - a back, neck and shoulder massage. The staff were really lovely and the treatments good, although they didn't last very long.
When we arrived, we ordered lunch in the bar. My husband had a cheese sandwich and a beer and I had a coronation chicken sandwich. There was no butter on my sandwich and the filling was sparse and only centrally located; quite a disappointing sandwich.
We had our evening meal in the main restaurant. The choice was limited and the prices quite high for what was being offered.
The deal we had included dinner and I had a roast meal that wasn't very hot. My husband had chicken in a mushroom sauce, which he said was very tasty. We also paid extra for a pudding - £6.95 for a sticky toffee pudding, which was very light and very nice.
The deal also included breakfast, which was a Full English or continental style breakfast.
Although the deal was very good value, if you had stayed and paid for dinner and breakfast, the average starter was £6.95 and mains £16.95, breakfast was £
The hotel has a little 'street' of shops outside, to wander around, with a toy shop, card/gift shop/jewellery a cake shop, chocolate shop, clothes shop a pub and a tea shop.
We also had a cream tea in the tea shop, which was very nice. £7.50 for two scones, jam and cream and tea.
The main bar area had a nice relaxed seating area with sofas and large windows. The hotel itself looked quite smart but tired in the restaurant area.
All staff were helpful and polite and although there is building work to the front/side of the hotel, the noise was never an issue.
Room service was also available from the full menu and late checkout and early check in was also available.
One thing I was not a fan of was that one of our sons had bought us a £50 voucher as a gift. When we booked in we had to pay £50 credit to our room, so that what ever we had at the bar etc was deducted from this. We asked to use the voucher, which wasn't a problem other than if we had only spent £20 or £30 we would not have been given any change or another gift voucher for the difference. I can not believe this is normal practice.
The receptionist was really good and we paid £50 with the option of using the voucher if we spent the full amount.

Greeted at reception by Rhianne who checked us in very swiftly. We got in our room early and were able to take advantage of the spa facilities. The hydro-pool was fantastic and it was very relaxing even though there was some building work nearby. Our evening meal was very nice although the steak was not cooked quite to asking. The staff were very helpful and the courses came quickly. The bar staff were fantastic, particularly Jon who made us feel welcome. We slept very well in very comfortable beds. Breakfast was quite poor in comparison as there didn't seem to be a lot of choice, some of the food was cold and the toaster set-up wasn't very good. However as this was a reduced stay through Wowcher it was definitely worth it overall. Would recommend and would return.

Pleasant the village setting is unusual and quaint room was cold when I entered, poor pillows and the food in the bar left a lot to be desired.

This is a nice hotel, some of the room may be a bit more dated but many have been updated and I found these to be very comfortable.

Not the largest bar area but comfortable and the restarting is nice and food was good.

Did not use so or facilities but a colleague said the gym and pool were good

Stayed over on Sat 25th Jan into Sunday as we were at a concert in Bolton and had stayed here before. The whole experience from start to finish and the professionalism of the staff was perfect.
Booked literally the following day to c ome back for a Buble tribute night and bringing my daughter and her husband. Superb!!!!

Hotel was lovely and the pools absolutely made our stay.

Bar staff a little slow and disorganised. White wine not chilled enough and when it's £7ish a glass, it's disappointing

Room lovely and bed was a kingsize not a double as advertised which was a bonus.

Decided to book this hotel due to a recommendation of a friend (and it being close to a birthday party my boyfriend and I were attending) The hotel itself is unusual, and it reminds me of a holiday park of some sort. We booked the highest room, which had two separate rooms and a bathroom. The chocolates and water were a nice touch! You can't get late check out on a Saturday, which was kind of disappointing as we were both pretty hung over. We made do with the 11am, but all in all we would visit again.

My husband and I renewed our wedding vows here in December and I have to say I have never known fantastic service like it anywhere in any hotel I have visited. Nothing was too much trouble and I have to say a huge thank you to Liz and Stuart who looked after me from beginning to end and made me feel like a VIP. All of the staff here were friendly and made a fuss over me whenever I needed anything. The DJ that was provided as part of the package was fantastic and we danced right through until 1:00am!
The food served was unbelievable, plenty of it, hot and very tasty. We opted for the Hog Roast and it went down a storm with all of our guests.
We stayed in a large executive garden room which was spacious and comfortable with plenty of room for my bridesmaids and I to have hair and makeup done together.
Both Liz and Stuart kept in touch with me throughout proceedings and to say they looked after me is an understatement!
My husband and I are going back in the next few weeks to relive some of the wonderful memories we have from our renewal and I cannot wait to catch up with everybody while we are there.
Thank you Last Drop for making our special day all the more memorable! xxx

Initially booked a 3 course meal, yet they stated couldn't honour this anymore - fine, will make do. Waiter was incredibly ignorant. Would spend plenty of time chatting to all other tables, yet when it came to two males dining together, the guy looked uncomfortable. He was very abrupt and basically "here's your food, bye." Didn't feel welcome to be in the restaurant.
Breakfast - okay. However, a manager was berating a young member of staff with additional needs. Shouting at other staff members in kitchen which the whole restaurant could hear. Uncomfortable environment again.

Room - toilet leaked and shower was poor. Didn't report due to the hostile treatment previously received from staff.

Spa was nice, although wasn't expecting children's swimming lessons to be happening when paying £135 for spa treatments. Notices everywhere stating no phones in the saunas/hydrotherapy pool - yet everybody was filming and taking photos. Staff did come in and didn't say a word.

So all in all, £254 for two massages, an overnight staff and food was a push. Thank goodness this was a gift off someone for Christmas.
