Food was delicious. And the hot tub was really nice and warm as well as a great sauna and steam room. Rooms were basic, but the hotel was clean and the staff really nice. Breakfast and dinner were really good.

Came to visit the Mercure Bolton All the staff were very helpful and polite. As I visited with my dog great to see how dog friendly the hotel is and the attention they give to not only you but your furry friends. Kim in the bar went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and that my dog had plenty of water and treats. I will definitely visit again.

Really handy location for us. Good sized room, clean. Receptionists we're lovely. Breakfast great. Dinner a little bland for me.

The staff were friendly when I checked in and the room was cleaned well.
However, the room and hotel was very dated and grimy. There was a lot of mold, including some strange growth on the ceiling of my room (photo attached).
The bed was very comfy.
The bathroom was clean but the shower was very weak. The tap water seemed to be perpetually lukewarm which wasn't ideal for drinking.
The mugs by the kettle still had coffee/tea marks in the bottom from previous guests.

Mecure is a great place to eat/drink and use the gym but Irene makes the place what it is. Me and my partner look forward to coming seeing her few times a week.

Use the hotel most days using the gym and leisure facilities and use for work after in the sports bar / restaurant. Really friendly place with great staff. Special mention to both Josh downstairs, Great to see him back! and Irene who runs the bar/restaurant upstairs. When she’s not in the place isn’t the same. Great coffee too!!
Both members of staff are a credit to the hotel. I’d recommend the hotel / facilities to anyone. Keep up the good work.

The staff were welcoming and helpful during our stay. I had booked and paid for a family room as I was travelling with my daughter who has Autism so we needed a room with as much space as possible. However, the toilet was not working so we had to move to a twin room which was much smaller and I had to sleep in a single bed rather than the double I had chosen. These things happen and I didn't mind too much. However, there was no reimbursement of the price difference and I was told that the cost was the same. Very disappointing.

As a wedding photographer, I recently had the pleasure of covering a wedding at the Mercure Bolton Georgian House Hotel, and it was an outstanding experience! The venue itself offers a beautiful mix of elegance and character, with its classic Georgian architecture and picturesque surroundings, making it an ideal spot for wedding photography.
The staff were exceptionally helpful and understanding, which made the day go so smoothly. From the setup to the end of the celebration, they were attentive and proactive, ensuring both the couple’s needs and mine as a photographer were taken care of. They genuinely went above and beyond to make the day special, creating a relaxed environment where I could focus on capturing those perfect moments.
For any couple looking for a stunning location with a supportive team, Mercure Bolton Georgian House Hotel is a fantastic choice. The outdoor areas provide lovely natural backdrops, and the indoor spaces allow for a cozy, intimate ambiance that photographs beautifully. I highly recommend this venue for a wedding – it’s an absolute gem!
