A really warm and natural welcome was received here. The staff seemed genuine. The beds were comfy and the family room large. The windows to our room were quite drafty and the seals had gone. Luckily it was Christmas day night so the traffic was minimal!
Breakfast at £11 per adult (free for kids) wasn't the best. Don't get me wrong it wasn't horrible but ok at best. The dining room was spacious and warm and again the staff were very helpful.
Pain free and speedy check out and being out of the room for 11am meant no rushing.
Overall. Good to get your head down. Go elsewhere for breakfast.

Attended with work for two day training. Great venue, easy to find, just off the M61 but feels rural. Good parking, no charge and if park at the back there's a back entrance to the hotel, which also leads to Reception.
Ideal function room, good size, well laid out, with a smaller room attached as break out for drinks/ food. That space was small - some had to sit back in the main room to eat as there wasn't enough room but not a problem. First day lunch was great, lots of choice for meat and non meat eaters - both days we had fantastic home made cakes/ cookies on arrival and at breaks. Day 2 lunch was poor though, completely different standard and as a veggie all I could have were two dry cheese sandwiches, so filled up on cookies.
Dropped a star because of that lunch.
I'd return here for the venue and home made cakes/cookies though 😂

Stayed on the 13th July 2018. Greeted by very friendly Reception Staff. Our room plain and simple, very clean. The bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds. Staff in the bar area was extremely friendly and helpful. The Hotel Manager arranged a taxi and escorted us to the taxi ensuring we were safe. Night staff were very friendly and managed the hotel professionally, under pressure of the bar area being very busy. He ensured everyone was happy and also cared for a resident who had returned with an injury to his ankle. I would definitely use this hotel again and stay to use the spa facilities, which we did not have time to explore. I highly recommend Bolton Georgian House, five star customer service.

Lovely, cosy place offering leisure facilities including swimming pool, jaccuzi, sauna and nice breakfast selection. We stayed in privilege room and had Nespresso machine there - loved it!
The only let down was bar staff, they were half-asleep, making no effort at all to offer any good customer service.

Have been to hotel many times over the years this was just a visit to use the pool in the leisure club. Too many times trying use public baths gets frustrating because of lessons and clubs going on and family swim in public baths always falls at bedtime. Clean tidy area. Lovely warm water in the pool. Relaxed and calm with only 1 other child in pool having a swimming lesson. Cost was £6 per adult. My 3yr old granddaughter was free. Clean hot showers following the swim. Changing room was communal and cold but we wouldn't hesitate to return.

Good gym, nice staff, good service. Main negative is that the room that I was in needed a refurb as certain things looked quite dated, particularly the bathroom. Also had to keep going to reception as my key card stopped working nearly every night I was there, which was a pain as I was on the top floor!

I went to the Mercure Bolton Georgian House Hotel for a vintage fair and it was really good for it's size. Not a massive fair but nicely laid out and the venue was clean and comfortable. Had a cup of tea in the bar that was reasonably priced and a good cup. Friendly staff and plenty of parking.

Rooms could do with being modernised but on the whole clean and tidy. Evening meal and breakfast were lovely with plenty of choice. In the main hotel bar the choice of cocktail was very limited which was a bit disappointing but did not spoil our stay.

My friend and I stayed here as part of a mini break so we had no choice. Having said that I could not find a fault anywhere. Comfortable rooms, friendly helpful staff and lovely food especially considering they were catering 'en masse'. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to stay there again.

A little tired and rooms a little dated but perfectly servicable. Shame the same cannot be said for the food. Went to order a basic burger and had to stop the server adding blue cheese sauce - who wants blue cheese sauce on a burger?
Abominable double cooked chips were heavy and greasy. I guess they are called double cooked because they are part cooked and allowed to cool before being reheated - last time I shall be having those.
WiFi worked well, plenty of hot water and adequate parking.
Will probably stay again but won't bother with the food

Hotel nice but if you like beer avoid at all costs. I was drinking Boddingtons and it was cloudy and tastes awful. My mate was on the lager that tasted like sweet ice cream. Ended up on the canned Guinness as they couldn't spoil that!! Won't go again!!!

Attended a day course here. Really easy access off motorway. Superb positioning with reasonable views of I think the start of the Pennines.
Whole place had a really cosy theme to it as it was coming up to Christmas though. I would definitely consider a stay there

Had a Christmas meal. The vegetarian option was not good (a ramekin of leeks in white sauce) although the chocolate flan for dessert was nice. The bar staff were overwhelmed and very slow- 15 mins to get served.

We came on National coach holiday for the weekend and found d the hotel very nice, good food and rooms very clean. The beds are very spacious but the duvet cover was very thick which hampered sleeping. But overall very nice hotel to stay

Even in the british winter this place seems to be a haven for flies. Bedrooms are comfortable enough but very dated and in need of updating. I would stay here again however and recommend to others looking for an affordable night

Excellent Christmas lunch as usual Polite and attentive staff. Four stars because of trumpets being blown throughout. Hopefully this will NOT happen next year.

Nice reception area with bar and informal dining. Dissapointed that they didn't have soya milk or other dairy free alternative for our coffees.
