Alliance Learning of Horwich, Bolton, has become one of the first companies in the UK to complete the assessment for the new standard BS 76005 Code of Practice for Valuing People through Diversity and Inclusion.
The assessment was the first undertaken by Centre For Assessment for the new standard, which is designed to provide a framework for organisations to use in the development of their management system for valuing people through diversity and social inclusion.
Alliance Learning is one of the North West’s largest independent training providers and has been delivering Apprenticeships for over 50 years. It is a not-for-profit organisation as well as a registered charity and continues to invest in its facilities and staff to ensure the highest quality training.
The assessment covered the following areas and how they relate to the way Alliance Learning values its staff through diversity and inclusion:
Assessor Michael Lynch was satisfied beyond any doubt that Alliance Learning met the requirements for BS 76005, saying: “They were clearly focussed on providing the best services for the students through a strong diversity & inclusion approach. Staff that worked for Alliance Learning came across as being firmly committed to the success of the organisation through the provision of effective services (linked to diversity and inclusion) to the many people that came into contact with them.
“The BS76005 standard is an excellent framework for an organisation to use in terms of integration into the organisations business and commercial relationships, providing continuing support and commitment from top management, being transparent about considering people inside and outside the organisation and also considering the organisations working environment.
“Having now assessed two organisations in line with the standard, there was no doubt about the added value and stretch that the framework offers to a client,” he said.
Alliance Learning’s Chief Executive Julie Robinson said : “I am immensely proud of this achievement, particularly as we are amongst the first organisations in the country to achieve The British Standard code of practice for Valuing People every day through Diversity and Inclusion.
“This reflects the positive approach our organisation has in valuing all individuals and the quality of our delivery to our customers and apprentices. I would like to thank all of our staff, customers, partners and apprentices who contributed to this fantastic achievement. “
Attaining the BS 76005 standard helps organisations be more successful in attracting, retaining and developing staff, improves decision-making and efficiency, amongst many other benefits. If you want to be assessed by Centre For Assessment, get in touch with them today on 0161 237 4080.
