Bolton based training provider, Alliance Learning, have commemorated the end of their 50th year celebrations by preserving the history of the organisation in a time capsule.
Alliance Learning hosted a ‘Back in Time’ event on Monday 28 November. The event was attended by past and present apprentices, ex-employees, current employees, board members, local businesses and the Mayor and Mayoress of Horwich.
Attendees had the opportunity to network, take a look at old photographs and memorabilia from the organisation and hear about Alliance Learning’s history.
The time capsule was designed and built by Volunteer Keith Ramsay, who freely gives us his time to help the organisation and contains lots of memorabilia gathered over the last 50 years to the present day, including course guides, staff photographs, business plans, reports and a book of messages from the Alliance Learning team of 2016.
Julie Robinson, Chief Executive at Alliance Learning, said:
“We thought it would be very fitting to end our 50th year anniversary celebrations by capturing the history of Alliance Learning in a time capsule and burying it to be re-discovered in 25 years’ time.
“It’s been lovely to re-visit lots of old photographs and documents relating to our training organisation and reflect on how far we have travelled since our early days as Bolton & District Engineering Training Group in 1966.
“It will be fantastic to rediscover these items in 2041 when the time capsule will be re-opened. It’s exciting to think about how Alliance Learning will develop and change in the next 25 years.”
