Animal World at Moss Bank Par has been given a cash boost from the Lottery Funding to be spent on an after school project.
Some time ago, Bolton Council aanounced the closure of Animal World and this sparked a campaign to keep the attraction and the formation of the Animal World Conservation Action Project (AWCAP) who are now working to make sure the attraction is still available to the residents of Bolton in years to come.
The money will go towards providing a series of after- school activities based on butterflies and include learning about different species, arts & crafts, computer animations and poetry.
The grant is a share of the1.2million which has been divided amongst more than 100 projects in the North West.
The project set up by AWCAP will aim to engage year 5 students who face barriers to learning and the activities carried out will support raisin the attainment and achievement of such students.
