Barrons is a truly independent family business, with sons Philip and Jonathon working in the shop, having taken the reins from father Peter who started the business 35 years ago, when the family worked and lived in the premises on Chorley Old Road.

For the last 12 months Phil and the team have been making special offers each week for their customers and offering them through their own facebook page and thebestof bolton and the business has seen a dramatic surge in customers.

For their 35th anniversary offer they decided to reproduce their 5 most popular meat platters from previous offers and offer a limited number, 35 of each platter, priced at £35, the previous offer price was £40 which still represented a huge saving on normal shop prices and within 27 minutes of posting the offer at 8pm on Monday evening the lot were sold out!

In fact so surprised by the response they had, the offer over ran and before they could end the sale, 202 orders had been placed and so not to disappoint anybody, all orders were honoured and £7070 worth of meat had been sold in just 27 minutes.

"But now the hard work starts" said Phil Barron, "all the packs need making up and delivering before the end of the week".

As a lesson to anyone in business, all barriers to purchasing from Barrons have been taken away, as orders can be collected from the shop or will be delivered free of charge to certain areas on specific days.

Previous high points in the year saw the team at Barrons make over 6000 chicken kebabs in one week over the summer to satisfy a barbeque pack offer and their previous record weekly offer was 146 packs sold at £40 each.
