Local Charity Be Strong that helps ex offenders is going from Strength to Strength.
The Be Strong Project wasa set up by Darren Armstrong who was a former drug addict and spent years in and out of prison. Darren wanted to set up a project to reach those people who found themselves in the same situation he was with a view to working with them to help to keep them on the straight and narrow.
Darrens plan is to work with offenders, providing positive activities such as gym classes and personal development classes. He started the project in January and since then the project has grown from strngth to Strength with the gym being so popular they are having to turn people away.
The group is facing a new challenge with transport being an issue. They meet in Bolton town centre and travel to the gym in cars but dont have enough space so want to raise fund to purchase a seven seater vehicle.
At a recent networking event, thebestof bolton introduced Darren to John Hynes of Copyprint Services, a recommended local business who has since donated a netbook and printer for Be Strong to use as raffle prizes.
thebesof bolton also had a fantastic meeting with Darren and Cineworld Bolton, voted the most loved UK Cinema by local people, who agreed to suport the cause by providing cinema tickets to give the lads a positive experience as a reward each month for their hard work.
If you would like to support Darren and the Be Strong Guys to achieve thier aim of purchasing a seven seater vehicle you can buy raffle tickets at a cost of just £2 each by contacting Darren on 0786 0535957
