A squad of Bolton College sports students celebrated their active academic achievements during a presentation evening held at The Reebok Stadium.
The Football Academy students gathered together to reflect on their positive progress over the last term, whilst also collecting their sporting silverware – as the college championed the annual Bolton Wanderers Football Club inter-college tournament this year.
The event also acknowledged two of Bolton College’s star sports students. Alice Trengove, 16, and Connar Ryan, 17, both received a learner of the year award in recognition of the progress they have made during the academic year. This included attendance, punctuality, conduct, excelling in academic projects and showing responsibility and leadership.
Bolton College student and learner of the year, Connar Ryan, said: “We were all excited to be at the Reebok Stadium – there’s a real buzz at the football ground. It was an honour picking up the BWFC inter-college cup, and a bonus to be named learner of the year too!”
Ben Blocksidge, curriculum leader of sport and public services at Bolton College, said: “Bolton College and Bolton Wanderers Football Club have had a strong and successful partnership for the last five years.
“The presentation evening highlighted the great work the learners have achieved over the academic year. The students have worked particularly hard throughout their course and I’m thrilled that we were able to celebrate their successes at such an inspirational venue.”
