My how times are changing, Bolton could be one of the first local Authorities to have funerals streamed on the internet and an electronic book of remembrance in place.
The new plans would mean that family and friends who could not get to the funeral would be able to log online and see the funeral taking place via a live video stream, the funeral would also be available for 7 days after the event. The funeral would be password protected so that only those people invited would be able to take part.
As part of these changes, Bolton Council also want to open an electronic book of remembrance, expand the burial grounds and extend Overdale Crematoriums West Chapel
Bolton Council is holding a consultation on the matter and is urging people to give their views by July 22nd
