Thebestof bolton Goes from Strength to Strength
Bolton couple David and Gaynor Ramsden are celebrating 12 months of successful growth with their company thebestof bolton.
David and Gaynor took over thebestof bolton on 1st August last year when it was nothing more than a low key web directory. Since then the business has gone from strength to strength. Having recently achieved their first goal of 50 business members they have now surpassed this and are looking to achieve between 80 and 100 members by Christmas.
David says “With over 50 local businesses proud to be recognised as being among ‘the best’ businesses in bolton we really are building a community of trusted businesses all who come through word of mouth recommendation from their previously satisfied customers. This is not about quantity its about quality!”
Having recently won two accolades ‘Best New Franchisee 2011’ from thebestof nationally and Commended for ‘We’re Backing Bolton’ at the Bolton and Bury Business Awards, David and Gaynor are thrilled by their achievements, having taken on the challenge of starting a new business when many would say we are in a very difficult economic climate.
The couple say the economic climate has been partly responsible for their achievement, in that local companies are looking for really effective ways to raise their profile in Bolton setting them apart from their competition and recognise that thebestof bolton meets this expectation, delivering practical, hands on quirky marketing solutions that get Bolton businesses noticed.
Over the past year David and Gaynor have worked tirelessly to promote and showcase thebestof bolton through many initiatives and events and not least using social media with phenomenal success so much so that they were recently invited by Business Bolton to deliver a Social Media seminar to Bolton businesses.
David and Gaynor acknowledge that they would not be at the level they are without forging some really important partnerships with local organisations such as Bolton Hospice, Bolton FM and Bolton Council, in fact a key value for thebestof bolton is that collaboration and working together is the ONLY way to succeed in business. July saw the first business exhibition in Bolton for almost 3 years, a collaboration between thebestofbolton and BforB under the ‘In Business In Bolton’ banner. The culmination of these partnerships is thebestof bolton becoming a patron of Bolton Lads and Girls Club.
Being passionate about Bolton and its success as a town, David and Gaynor maintain that ‘Buy Local’ is the single most important value that underpins the whole of their business. Promoting great local businesses, giving them a voice to get their message out to local people, building the local economy and firmly putting Bolton on the map is at the heart of everything they do.
