Well done to Bolton FM as they have been nominated for social enterprise of the year at the E3 Business Awards.
There are 12 awards in total given out at the ceremony, which takes place on Thursday 18th September at the Bolton Whites Hotel. The awards are now in their second year and try and recognise successful and innovative businesses in the North West. Companies that invest in education, enterprise and employment hope to be recognised as well. More details about all the awards and nominees can be found on the E3 Business Awards website
The winner will be decided by a panel of judges including Martyn Shaw, head of the business school at the University of Bolton, along with other well respected people from the corporate world, like Siddiq Musa, partner at KPMG and Dr David Edmundson Bird, principal lecturer in digital marketing at Manchester Metropolitan University.
They’ll be picking first place based on the following criteria:
1) If they have the potential to grow, develop and be sustainable in the future
2) Show that they have made a positive impact on society and the environment
3) Prove they’ve made a positive impact on a person’s life, particularly supporting vulnerable members of society to help themselves
4) Meet its own objectives by demonstrating a innovative approach to how it operates
Any charity or community/social enterprise could nominate themselves, providing the had a social purpose on a non-profit basis. Bolton FM aims to be a trustworthy source of news and opinions in Bolton. It is run mostly by volunteers who have worked or lived in Bolton their whole lives.
Bolton FM are up against 3 other fantastic organisations, The Blair Project in Manchester, National Forum for Health and Well Being in Preston and Certain Curtain Theatre Company in Preston, but I’m sure Bolton FM stand a fantastic chance of winning.
We’ll let you know if Bolton FM top their category when the winners are announced in September at the Bolton Whites Hotel, but in the meantime you can listen to them on 96.5 Bolton FM or you can contact the station by telephoning 01204 375408.
