Summer is now well and truly over as I write this blog. I can hear the wind howling round my office and the rain battering the window so it feels just about the right time to be writing a blog for Halloween.
Bolton is no exception when it comes to getting all spooky and there are some fantastic activities going on for Halloween both within the town and slightly further afield.
For those of you who would like a more refined night, why not book yourself a place at the Bolton Lads and Girls Club Halloween Ball at DeVere Whites, Bolton Hospice Autum Ball at the Holiday Inn or 'A Night for Jennifer at The Last Drop Village all these offer evening of fun and entertainment while supporting a fantastic local causes. Cinnamon Restaurant in Bolton invite you to join them for night of family fun with trick-or-treating and fancy dress, or try the ghoulish cocktails!
For an night out with a more adult theme, why not join the team at J2 on Nelson Square Bolton for their Cirque De J2 - Halloween Fancy Dress Ball! 29th October from 10.30pm

If you want to head out a little further afield, the Scare Kingdom in Blackburn may be just the ticket. Scare Kingdom Scream Park is the UK's newest Halloween entertainment park with ALL NEW attractions for 2011.
The Wildlife Trust in Bolton are holding an extra special event for disabled children and their families to celebrate all things halloween.
Witch's Brew
3 pints purple grape juice
1 1/2 pints club soda
grapes
apples
Mix the grape juice and soda in a pitcher. Cut the apple into small chunks. Float the fruit in the brew just before serving. Like magic, the grapes and apples will look just like eyes and teeth. Make a swizzle broomsticks for each cup, with a straw and black paper cut into a fringe.
