Bolton is often underestimated when it comes to talent (unless it's something to dow ith factories or the spinning mule). However, we've had a history of achievers, including Fred Dibnah, Captain Stanley Lord, and the Lever family. And we're currently seeing a great number of people in the public eye at present, such as Jason Kenny, Peter Kay and Sir's Phillip Craven and Ian McKellen.
The future for Bolton is looking brighter still. And one of those people set to shine and lead the charge is a talented young singer by the name of Iman Orths. I was introduced to her work through thebestof Bolton, thanks to the connection with Lubna (her mother) at True Dentistry.
And I would like to share some of her work with you. Here is Iman's YouTube page, containing a number of covers, albeit with her own personal touch, ranging from up-tempo beats to slower ballads. And each one is done with style, professionalism and a maturity that belies her years. Indeed, some are arguably better than the originals ('Next To Me' is a personal favourite of mine).
There is a reason for this post, besides sharing some incredible local talent. Iman was recently selected as one of 12 acts, chosen from thousands that applied, that will be taking part in the First News Diamond Kids event in Liverpool. And Iman is undoubtedly sure to be one of the favourites to advance to the National competition in November.
The regional show is set to take place on the 16th September, and Iman will have four minutes in which to work her magic. Tickets are still available, and can be obtained through the website above. It'd be excellent for the people of Bolton to join together and go, and show everyone how much the local community supports our talent.

We wish Iman the best of luck, and know she is destined for great things. And I shall now have many of the songs she has sung stuck in my head for the rest of the day.
