It looks set to be a busy summer for BSBP, but they need your help if the work they do is to continue.
They are appealing to the people of Bolton to donate bottles of alcohol or soft drinks so they can be used in bottle tombola’s at their events. Like their quiz nights (see below)
Just one bottle could raise £20 for the charity, which would cover the costs of one of their social groups for blind people for a month.
There is believed to be over 7,000 people living in Bolton who are affected by sight loss and many of these are isolated. The groups and events that BSBP organise across the year raise crucial funds to help get ease the amount of isolation they feel.
You can drop the donation off at their centre at 336 Ainsworth Lane, Bolton or contact their charity co-ordinator Justine on 01204 337896.
One of the biggest events they have planned over July is the return of their popular quiz nights. Once again it will be held at Farnworth Cricket Club on Thursday 24th July.
The aim of this evening is to raise money for BSBP’s planned blind adults supported holiday, due to take place in July 2015. Many of the adults they support don’t have family or friends to support them for a holiday and they aren’t able to holiday alone.
On the night of the quiz itself there will be a host of quiz questions, raffle with nice prizes like a golfing day and restaurant vouchers, bingo, raffle, pasty and peas supper and bottle tombola.
Tickets for this lively event cost £3.50 and you can buy them by telephone on 01204 337896 or collect them from The Sensory Centre in Tonge Moor.
If you think you can help BSBP, whether by attending the quiz night or donating bottles, call them on 01204 337896 or visit them in person at the Sensory Centre on Ainsworth Lane, Bolton.
