Literacy and numeracy are two vital subjects children study in school. And in the month of March there’s two events that tie in with these perfectly, World Book Day and World Maths Day.
World Book Day is the annual day that aims to encourage young people to read more. Youngsters dress up as their favourite literacy character and hopefully pick up a few more books to read afterwards.
After Easter, Bolton Tuition Centre will be running a termly book review competition. The winner will receive a voucher for a cinema/book shop/sports shop etc. They are trying to help the children to read more and engage in the written word more, therefore increasing their vocabulary and enabling them to achieve more in their academic careers.
It might be taking a break this year, but World Maths Day (which usually takes place on March 12th) has been running since 2007 and has grown into a large event with online games, world record maths contests, mobile apps and much more. It is a global event with children around the world getting involved.
If your child struggles with maths, then get in touch with Bolton Tuition Centre on 01204 684450.
