Bolton Cancer Voices have a unique approach to supporting cancer patients and cancer survivors.
For the last four years, they have been welcoming anyone who has received a cancer diagnosis of any type, at any time, to their weekly meetings: at which the emphasis is on singing. Their music provides a welcome diversion from the rigours of hospital appointments and treatment and a great way of moving forward after treatment is complete. In an environment where everyone appreciates the challenges of cancer, there is always something positive and life affirming to focus on and look forward to.
With work underway on their festive programme, which this year will see the Choir in concert at The Barlow Edgworth, presenting ‘Mulled Wine, Mince Pies and Music’, on Sunday 4th December and at Bury Parish Church on Saturday, 10th December, when they join forces with the iconic Houghton Weavers for a concert entitled ‘Christmas at the Rock’, this is the perfect time for new members to join them.

‘We have been having a great year; made all the more so, for our recent appearance on BBC North West Tonight: and are currently working full out to plan an awesome 2017, filled with fun, challenging and memorable experiences, to mark our 5th Birthday.
Being featured on the BBC was a fantastic opportunity that not only inspired our members but also brought us several new members, which is wonderful. In addition I also received calls from people who, as cancer patients themselves, just wanted to say how inspired and uplifted they had felt after seeing the feature: what more could we ask!
As our optimum membership number is 70, we can still accommodate more enthusiastic people looking to share their joy of singing, so please do get in touch.’
