Are you a poet and you didn’t know it? Well now is the time to explore your creative side as budding poets are being encouraged to showcase their talent in shop windows all over Bolton.
The ‘Write out loud’ poetry forum is hoping to build a collection of poems from both amateur and established writers which will be displayed in shop windows across the town for shoppers to take 5 minutes and stop and read.
The project will run alongside Boltons Festival of The Arts which starts on June 14th and the poems will be visible in shop windows for a week after the launch.
Shops who are participating include Booths Music, Greggs, Waterstones, Costa Coffee and Ye Old Pastie Shop.
The website that is run by Mr Jordan of the forum attracts over 1000 visitors per day and the poems will be on display there and judged and be in with a chance of appearing in a shop window.
If you would like to take part in the event, go to www.writeoutloud.net and submit your work.
