Hayley Taylor – known as ‘The Fairy Jobmother’ from Channel Four’s popular programme – has announced she will be joining a mission to help Bolton’s 8,927 jobseekers find work.
The employment expert will make a special appearance at the Bolton Jobs and Skills Fair, held at Bolton College on 20 September. Hayley will be on hand to give careers advice and guidance to visitors, helping them to find that much-desired job role.
The Jobs and Skills Fair has been set up to tackle unemployment in the area, while promoting access to learning and training.
Hayley Taylor said: “In today's current economic climate it is fundamental that careers information and guidance is made widely available and easily accessible. Bolton College is helping to raise awareness for those who need to identify their skill set and cover the many options that are available, thus helping their career progression.
“I am delighted to have been asked to attend this event and offer my experience in the field of gaining fulfilling and sustainable employment.”
Held in partnership with Bolton Council, Bolton at Home, Job Centre Plus and Bolton University, the free event has now doubled in size following the inaugural fair, which took place in February of this year. With over 60 employers exhibiting on the day, including Bolton at Home, The Royal Navy, Adecco, Groundwork Bury & Bolton, Sure Care and The Body Shop at Home, there will be in excess of 100 jobs on offer.
Marie Gilluley, Principal of Bolton College, said: “We’re thrilled The Fairy Jobmother will be joining us for the Jobs and Skills Fair – she will undoubtedly provide valuable tips and advice to local jobseekers. The aim of the Jobs and Skills Fair is to give people the opportunity to meet employers and training providers, to get the information they need about skills and development.
“On the day, Hayley will be giving a series of talks and seminars. We hope local people will jump at the chance to see her in person and get unrivalled help and guidance on their future.”
