Carol's having a charity close shave
CAROL Lord - aka comedy compere Charlie Lee - is fulfilling a promise she made to a close friend who died from cancer.
Mrs Lord, told her neighbour that she would get her head shaved on the next charity event that she organises to support the hospice who helped her.
But she lost her battle with cancer last year before Carol could organise it all and now she wants to go through with her pledge.
The comic is hosting a charity night at the Last Drop Pennine Suite for Bolton Hospice, and will finally have her head shaved - live on stage.
She said: "her friend wouldn't like her name in the paper so I won't say who it is but she was a wonderful woman.
"It has been niggling away at me that I never had my head shaved and so I am doing this for her."
I made a promise so I am sticking to it.
The £30-a-head night on Saturday, July 16 includes a slap-up meal, entertainment from close up magician Rick Naylor, a raffle with some fantastic prizes, and, of course, Carol's hairraising moment in the spotlight and then to finish off with the fabulous Jackson Kay band.
