Bolton council have recently been commended for achieving the 'Investors In People' (IIP) Award during difficult economic circumstances.
The award was originally presented in 2008 and now Bolton Council have been awarded the status again for the next 3 years.
The assessor found staff to be well supported, with the senior management having a strong focus on the people of the organisation.
This is a great accolade for the council and its workforce and think that in the current climate it is all too easy for us to forget the importance of investing in employees with a business and can very easily become engrossed in cost cutting and savings while forgetting to look at the bigger picture.
