Homeowners, private tenants and landlords in Bolton can get a new boiler installed in their property - for free!
Local gas and renewable energy services company, BHE Services (Bolton) Ltd, says that homeowners, private tenants, and landlords can take advantage of the Government-backed scheme called the Energy Companies’ Obligation (ECO) if they are in receipt of certain state benefits.
Paul Wilkinson, Operations Director at BHE Services (Bolton) Ltd, said: “This is a genuine scheme - funded by the big energy companies - and means that people that meet the qualifying criteria can have a new, highly efficient central heating boiler installed in their homes - for free.
Mr Wilkinson added: “The Energy Companies’ Obligation (ECO) is a new programme designed to reduce Britain’s energy consumption by funding the installation of energy efficiency measures in low-income households and in properties that are harder to insulate.
“It works alongside the Government’s Green Deal initiative to give consumers support and funding for energy efficiency improvements in their homes.”
“We know, for example, that a new, highly efficient boiler can save a household up to £310 a year in the cost of gas,” he went on.
Mr Wilkinson said that the programme was not open to Council or Housing Association tenants but was open to part owners in shared equity schemes, in addition to homeowners, private tenants and landlords.
“People can check if they qualify for a new, free boiler by ringing 01204 450 450 and we can do a pre-qualification over the phone. If they do qualify, we will take care of all of the paperwork and install their new boiler at their earliest convenience,” said Mr Wilkinson.
“We are also encouraging local landlords to find out if their tenants have one of the qualifying state benefits, so they can benefit from the scheme too. For landlords, a new boiler means that their property is being improved - at no cost to them or their tenant!”
