Football fans across Bolton were left crying into their pints yesterday as England crashed out of the World Cup following a 4-1 defeat against Germany.
Goals from Matthew Upson and Frank Lampard, dissallowed during the game even though it was clearly proven to be over the line during replays, weren't enough to lift the spirit of fans across Bolton City Centre as many made the long walk home with their heads in their hands.
Frank Lampard's effort has drawn controversial comment from across the footballing world, with many key figures indicating it is conclusive proof that goal line technology should be introduced to the game, especially during such important competitions as the World Cup.
Bookmaker William Hill said it would pay out to customers who bet on Lampard scoring during the crucial game.
