Garmin, perhaps better known for their excellent range of SatNav Systems have put all their brain power, knowledge and ingenuity into this watch, meaning you'll need very little else on your adventures.

It is the first wristwatch to include comprehensive Garmin GPS navigation technology, meaning it is just as powerful and accurate as your in-car system. The Fenix tracks where you have been, but it can also guide you into the wilderness and, more importantly, guide you back out again so you can feel 100% confident and safe with every step you take.

It really is an incredible piece of engineering. It records a track log, creating a GPS "bread crumb trail" as you move. It also allows you to mark waypoints, such as your vehicle location, safety shelter, great viewpoints and other POIs (points of interest). With Fenix, you can create and follow routes, mark up to 1,000 waypoints and store up to 10,000 track points. And, you can do it all from your computer beforehand.

That's not all. The watch also has built in ABC, which, I am informed, is not only useful in a nursery setting, but stands for Altimeter, Barometer and Compass, which I know for a fact are incredibly useful when out in the wild. It can also give you accurate temperature readings, store data, and transmit information back to your computer.

And all this from a watch that goes on your wrist, and is no bigger than any other watch on the market.
