Farnworth Precinct used to be one of my favourite places to shop in Bolton at the weekend. I didnt live in Farnworth, I just loved the array of shops and cafes as well as the local market but it must be over 5 years since I even visited. The shops seem to all die away, the market became empty and souless and so I, and I am sure lots of other, stopped visiting.
So I was pleased to read in the Bolton News recently that Farnworth Precint. The Bolton News reports that an investment of over £150,000 will be going into revamping the precinct after it was purchased for just over £4 million pounds earlier this year.
The first phase of the improvemebts have already been started by St Modwen who specialise in redeveloping commercial and industrial sites and is part of their long term investment of making repairs and improving the exterior of buildings.
There are already major changes happening in Farnworth with the development of the new Tesco store on Longcauseway.
With a long term aim of further improvements, St Modwen are working closely with Bolton Council.
