How much do you know about lymphoma? Not that much unless you or someone you know suffers from it I imagine. But World Lymphoma Day on Monday 15th September is the chance to increase your knowledge of this condition.
Lymphoma is a cancer of the lymphatic system, which is a series of tubes, glands and organs that make up the body’s immune system. Symptoms of it include unusual tiredness, unexplained weight loss, persistent cough, excess sweating (particularly at night) and abdominal pain. It can be treated with chemotherapy and the exact treatment you receive will depend on the exact nature of your condition.
World Lymphoma Day is now in its 10th year and there are so many ways you can get involved to raise awareness of the illness.
The organisers of the event are encouraging everyone to have a special tea break and encourage everyone to leave donations for their team. All the money raised will then go towards the Lymphoma Association, which offers support to patients and their families suffering from the condition.
At Sykes Chemist their helpful staff will be happy to advise you on any aspects of your treatment.
For more information on Lymphoma visit the Sykes Chemist website or call them on 01204 684731.
