Bolton is getting into gear for Christmas with FREE parking being offered on Thursdays and Sundays on NCP and APCOA car parks in the run up to Christmas.
In an attempt to boost shoppers to the town and as a boost to local businesses, the FREE parking has been timed to increase footfall during certain shopping periods.
FREE Parking will be available at the following car parks
- Topp Way, Deane Road, Octagon and Bow Street multi storey car parks after 4pm on Thursdays and all day on Sunday
- Surface car parks and on street car parking after 4pm on Thursdays and also all day Sunday

The free parking starts on 24th November which is the night of the Bolton Lights Switch on and run until 8th January so perfect for any sale shoppers.
If you cant shop during the FREE parking period then NCP Top Way car park is offering a full days parking for only £3.20 in their town centre, multi storey car park just minutes away from Debenhams and on the Metroshuttle bus route (see below). The car park also has parent and child parking bays as well as Shopmobility on site so a car park for all.
An added bonus of parking here is that workers of Bolton will be pleased to hear the £3.20 day rate is also valid overnight so if you are out on your Christmas night out and fancy a drink, you can return to your car in the morning knowing that you wont face huge parking charges or even worse a parking fine!
Dont forget you can also get around on the towns FREE metroshuttle service which enables shoppers to really take advantage of the whole of the town centre which can sometimes feel a bit sprawling from one side to the other.
The Metroshuttle service can now take you from the train or bus station, Topp Way car parks or Deane Road car parks, into Bolton to the shops and back again all for FREE?
There are new bus stops being added with the most recent being outside the University of Bolton, Bolton Colleges and Deane Road Multi-storey car park.
The service will also be calling at a new Bus Stop on Bath Street close to the Topp Way multi-storey car park giving a direct link to the Shop Mobility Service which has been relocated.
The route includes Bolton Interchange, Crompton Place Shopping Centre, Market Place Shopping Centre, Law Courts, Town Hall, Bolton Bus Station, The Octagon Theatre, Bolton Market, The University of Bolton, Morrisons and Sainsbury's.
The bus service operates Monday to Saturday between the hours of 9am-5pm
The buses have low floor accessibility for wheelchairs and buggies and are designed to the latest standards for reduced carbon emissions
