Age UK is a well established and highly regarded charity who work wit and on behalf of those people who are later in life.
They have come up with a fabulous gift that wont break the bank and will go on giving and giving when Christmas is long over.
Age UK see on a daily basis the positive effects that having a friend drop in can have on an elderly person.
Each of us regardless of age can feel alone or isolated but this can be so much worse when you are elderly and cant get out or do things for yourself in the same way a younger person may do.
Volunteer befrienders who can visit older people in their own home on a weekly or fortnightly basis for an hour or so can provide essential and emotional support and even more valuable, that link to the outside world.
Age UK desperately need more volunteers to help them maintain and grow their important services across Bolton.
