You’ve probably already noticed the banners for Buy Local Week on our website. The nationwide campaign is encouraging consumers to use local, independent businesses instead of going to the big chains. We need to keep local businesses alive on the high street all year round, but for this week only, if you pledge to buy local, you’ll be entered into a draw to win £100 to spend at your chosen business.
Here at the bestof Bolton we have over 100 independent, Bolton based members, who all provide exceptional customer service, fantastic products and high quality produce to the town.
But only a few brave men were brave enough to bare all in the name of buy local.
Their billboard will very soon be going up near Chorley Old Road and Chorley New Road so you won’t be able to miss it.
Matt Tomkin from Comms Consult, Eric Henshaw from Business for Breakfast, Phil and Jonathon Barron from Barrons of Beef, David Ramsden from the bestof Bolton, Julian Holt from Premier Stores, John Hynes from Copy Print Services, Gary Walmsley from Posh Bathing, Graham Barnes from The Beaumont Arms and Chris Deakin of Chris Deakin Productions revealed all for the photo. The shot was taken by the brilliant Ruaux Photography.
Of course, we want to get maximum exposure (and amusement on behalf of the lads involved) so we’re going to include the photo in our next handy blue book, and as many other places we can think of.
Joking aside, please pledge your support to Buy Local. It won’t take you any longer then 5 minutes. And next time you’re looking for a business to shop with, don’t discount the local businesses.
