Another exciting event in Bolton is heading our way this summer. The Horwich Festival of Racing formerly known as the Horwich Carnival Races will take place on Sunday 17th June 2012 a different weekend to the Horwich Carnival with a full range of sporting excellence and community participation across a range of events and activities.
Over the years, more than 7,500 people both young and old, from Olympic and World Championship medallists to those taking part for the very first time have taken to the streets of Horwich, whether to compete for championship medals or simply to enjoy the experience.
With sponsorship from many local companies and organisation including Emerson, Bluemantle, Craftprint, Friends Provident and Bolton arena, along with continued support from both Horwich Town Council and Bolton Council, the Horwich Festival of Racing is set to go from strength.

11.30am Bolton Arena Youth Cycle Races (U12 & U16)
1.00pm Bluemantle Street Orienteering Challenge
1.40pm 1 Lap Fun Run (including fancy dress prizes)
2.00pm Horwich Town Council Open 5k Running Race
2.45pm Craftprint 1 Lap Street Race (5 to 18 years old)
3.10pm Bolton Council Cycle Race
