Working in an office during this hot weather is proving difficult for Brits across the country. That's why we're bringing some great ways to stay cool during this heatwave!
Wear lighter clothing
When getting dressed in the morning, take the heat into consideration. Be sure to wear non-restrictive clothing with light materials that will allow your skin to breathe. Try to stick with lighter coloured clothing as it will absorb less heat.
Doors and windows
Get them all open! As well as opening windows to let the draft in, opening doors will join each room together to allow for as much airflow as possible in your office. You may also want to keep your blinds closed to prevent the sun piercing through the windows.
Stay hydrated
Hydration is the most important aspect of staying cool in a hot environment. Your body is constantly dehydrating, even when sitting in an office. Try and drink water throughout the day to allow your body to cool itself down. Why not prepare some ice cold water in the fridge the night before to take to work?
Invest in a fan
For a quick, effective solution - why not buy a small fan for your office desk. This will provide instant relief from the hot climate for a small cost. You could also place a bowl of ice in front of the fan to create your own air conditioner!
Cool your wrists
A quick tip for cooling yourself down when you’re feeling too warm is to run your pulse points under a cold tap or placing a cold object on them such as an ice cube. This should provide immediate relief from the heat throughout your whole body.
