Janet Darwell has been a keen cyclist for over 35 years and has taken part in both competitive cycling and touring. She has participated in time trials, 24 hour endurance events, rode across Europe and also from Lands End to John O Groats, now she has a new challenge!
All this is to raise money for Bolton's Fort Alice, a charity who help support women and children who have been suffering from domestic abuse, Janet has been working with Fort Alice for a number of years, helping with their Christmas gift wrapping service and so much more.
For her new challenge, she is going to walk the pilgrims route, taking her 500 miles through France and Spain to Santiago de Compostela. She will be walking along with her sister in law and will be sleeping in hostels along the route and eating in local venues.
She is planning to raise £2,000 for Fort Alice, a fantastic amount.
