Children are rather fond of this day, and adults rather like it too! I’m talking about Playday, a whole day dedicated to celebrating playing. Playday falls on the 6th August 2014 and it is now in its 27th year.
Playday has become one of the biggest play events in Europe. It all started in 1986 when government cuts threatened to close children’s play areas across the country. So a group of people who worked in these centre’s decided to dedicate a whole day to playing. They originally thought it would only work in London, but it spread across the country and shows the importance of play for infants. Play is vital for physical and mental growth.
You can find out much more information by visiting the playday website.
There is no better place for children to play in then Fidgets Soft Play Centre. Whatever the weather, you’ll be able to enjoy it as it’s all indoors. It’s open every day between 9am and 6pm and will always cost less than £5, no matter when you go. During Monday-Friday term time it’s £3.50 for 1-2 year olds and £4.00 for over £3’s and then at weekends and school holidays children can play for £4.00 for 1-2 year olds and £4.50 for 3 years plus.
Children can even have their birthday party at Fidgets and celebrate their big day with all their friends. The team at Fidgets will provide the food for the youngsters and the adults, as well as providing a party bag, balloons, games, birthday cake and even popcorn if needed!
At weekends there needs to be a minimum of 10 children at the party, whilst during the week at term time there only has to be 6 children. At weekends the cost is £8.99 per child and mid-week term time it’s £6.99 between 9am and 3pm and £7.99 after 3pm.
