Bolton Cancer Voices has issued an invitation to join them for coffee, cake and choice entertainment at their forthcoming Coffee Morning, part of Macmillan Cancer Support’s ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ event.
Taking place in the Victoria Hall, Bolton, on Saturday 9th September, 10am – 12 noon, the event will get off to a rousing start thanks to Bolton Caledonia Pipe Band, who join the line-up of entertainers.
Bolton Cancer Voices, whose members are all cancer patients and cancer survivors, are hosting the event to express their appreciation to Macmillan Cancer Support for their invaluable financial input, which facilitated the development of the Bolton Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Service.
Entry to the event is free: organizers just want as many people as possible to attend and support them in saying ‘thank you’ to Macmillan for helping realize the facilities Bolton enjoys today.
Staff from the Information & Support Service, which operates from Giles House, Chorley New Road; Bolton One, Moor Lane and the Royal Bolton Hospital, will have a stand on the day and be available for anyone wishing to access cancer related information.
Karen Elliott – Chair of Bolton Cancer Voices said: -
‘We are delighted to have Bolton Caledonia Pipe Band joining us, along with our other guest entertainers Paul Thornton – a very talented local guitarist and Tutti Flutti – a fantastic flute ensemble. And for us it’s a chance to singing a few favourites from our repertoire.
We are indebted to the Victoria Hall, who are kindly and generously providing the venue free of charge; to all entertainers for giving their time and talent to support us and to a number of local bakeries, who are donating goods.
It’s so great to have the community come together in this way, in support of an organization, which has demonstrated great commitment to our town.
I’m especially pleased to have a team from Bolton Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Service attending; for anyone looking for cancer information or with a cancer related enquiry, it will be an invaluable opportunity to access the service out of normal working hours.
Come and join us for the morning or just drop in for a quick coffee and a slice of cake; we look forward to seeing you.
And if you can’t make it on the day, you can still support us by texting 70550 to donate £5; our ‘Text 2 Donate’ code is - JAM MVM7. (Texts cost £5 + your standard network charge.)
No one should face cancer alone. And with your support no one will have to.’
