It's therapeutic. It's fun. It's messy. And the result is a lot of fun, if not only good for making you need a nap. Any guesses what it is yet? Of course you know, because it's contained in the title of the blog. But it is indeed National Baking Week very soon, running from the 15th to the 21st October.
This year, 2012, has been synonymous with all things British; the Diamond Jubilee, the London Olympics and Team GB's success, and the first British Wimbledon finalist in 76 years plus a winner at the US Open. Which is why this years National Baking Week is all about getting Britain baking.
The rise in popularity of cooking shows on television has meant an increase in audience participation, and the people behind the week are looking to take this momentum forward. So the message is to just bake. Bake with your children, bake with your friends, bake with your colleagues – whoever it may be, just get your oven on and start experimenting.
Get on over to the National Baking Week website where there is so much to do. Recipe ideas, hints and tips, fun stuff and information about how your baking can raise money for this years chosen charity, Great Ormond Street Hospital. What could be better? You get to bake, you get to eat, and you get to help out a great cause and support the incredible work that they do.
So, what are you waiting for? Get started. And you know the address of thebestof bolton office, don't forget to share.
