Christmas can be a really difficult time of year where family stresses or loneliness can get on top of you much quicker than at other times of year.
The Samaritans offer confidential, emotional support for anyone experiencing feelings of distress or despair. They are all volunteers and listen without judgement and give people the time and space they need. You can contact Samaritans by telephone, e-mail, letter or by calling into your local branch to see a volunteer face to face. Samaritans have been in existence since 1953 and were the first telephone helpline.
The Samaritans are based at 16 Bark Street East, Bolton BL1 2BQ. Our emergency telephone number is (01204) 521200 and the national emergency telephone number is (08457) 90 90 90. People can also e-mail Samaritans at: jo@samaritans.org.
We are recruiting for new volunteers and are holding an Information Evening on Tuesday 17th January 2012 at 7pm. If you would like to find out more about volunteering at Bolton Samaritans please ring (01204) 521200.
