The Animal World and Butterfly House at Moss Bank Park is one of Bolton's hidden treasures, loved by children and adults alike. But it is largely thanks to the work of the Animal World Conservation Action group that it is still there to be enjoyed this year. And there is a great sponsorship opportunity available.
In 2011, it was proposed that the wildlife area of the park be closed for good. This would mean relocating all the exisiting animals as well as losing somewhere important to the people of Bolton. The Animal World Conservation Action (AWCA) group was formed in March 2011 as a result.
This group, made up of volunteers, and working in conjunction with Bolton Council, managed to successfully retain the zoo license as well as renovating the necessary areas. The result was spectacular, and last year, the Butterfly House was able to reopen.
And this year is no different. The 24th of March is the day on which the butterflies are let loose in 2013. And this has opened up a unique sponsorship opportunity for businesses.
You could sponsor the Butterfly House this year. For more details on what is a great opportunity to be exposed to thousands of people, get in touch with the AWCA Project on 07845 869248, or email at awcaproject@hotmail.co.uk.
