Bolton College students have proven that they're fighting fit, after clinching two impressive sporting accolades at national and European competitions.
Zac Miller, 16, has been recognised for his sporting efforts at the SPAR European Cross Country Championships, while Bradley Strand, 16, has beaten his way to the top of his game, gaining a national boxing title.
The SPAR European Cross Country Championships took place in Belgrade, Serbia, last month and saw 570 athletes from 36 countries taking part. Zac competed in the under-20s category and finished an impressive 31st out of 100. The under-20s Great Britain and Northern Ireland team also narrowly missed out on the bronze medal, finishing in fourth place.
Tony Challinor, Bolton College boxing coach and assessor, said: "We're all extremely proud of Zac's achievements - not only for the ranking he achieved, but the fact that he is the youngest person to be selected for the British team, competing against people three years his senior."
Bradley has brought a national boxing title back to his hometown of Liverpool, after competing in the National Association of boxing clubs for young people tournament . The keen boxer, who has been heavily involved in the sport since 2007, fought off tough competition in his weight category and was crowned the champion in the 54 kilo group.
Bradley commented: "Boxing has been a major part my life over the past six years - I've worked extremely hard and gained so much from my lecturers and coaches at Bolton College and the Gloves Community Centre. I look forward to another year of successful fights and fending off the competition for my national championship title."
