The great news is, Sykes Chemist can now look at every patients Summary Care Record (SCR). The Summary Care Record is written by the GP and lists all current and discontinued medication for the patient, also any drug or other allergies!
What’s fantastic about this is, if a patient needs an emergency supply of medication, Sykes Chemist can check exactly what the customer has been prescribed in the past e.g. if you have been away on holiday or if you have run out of medication.
Not only that, if a patients buys over the counter medicine, Sykes Chemist can check out any interaction with current prescribed medicines!
All patients in England will have a Summary Care Record unless they have opted out, and all information is kept confidential.
