The annual Turton Rotary Club did its rounds at Christmas this year and should be very proud of themselves. I know we at thebestofbolton are!
With Santa on the back of the sleigh, they toured the streets for over 11 nights and made regular appearances at local businesses and supermarkets where they received a generous welcome and this year in particular the they have raised a record amount for local good causes.
At the bestofbolton we have several of our businesses who are involved with the rotary club at Turton and really go the extra mile to help them raise substantial amounts of money. Andy Peplow from Bromleys Independent Funeral Services, Mark Pollitt from Digicomm BCS and Jim Turner from JKT Design all work tirelessly to support the good work of the Rotary Club.
Mark Pollitt Rotarian and MD of from Digicomm BCS had this to say
'Although freezing conditions and a soft white beard turned to icicles, it has once again been a great pleasure being involved in the Turton Rotary Christmas fund raising events and bringing smiles and fun to local people. Involvement in the Rotary activities also enforces Digicomm’s commitment to our Corporate social responsibility and working with the local community. We hope that the additional online awareness of the Turton Rotary activities provided by the Best of Bolton, assisted us in this being a record breaking fund raising year and our thanks for all those that donated to help the local charities.'
Some of the monies raised has already been used locally with pantomime visits and gifts for needy children and the remainder of the fund will be distributed locally over the coming weeks and months.
