April 2016 saw the launch of The Zak Vali Foundation which started up in memory of Zak Vali.
The Aim of the foundation is to raise funds to help pay for funeral costs when a child passes after losing their battle with cancer, from their launch until now, they have already paid for 5 funerals!
Zak Vali was a lovely, typical teenage boy who was very active and really loved sports and anything outdoors. On the 18th September 2014, he was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma on his 10th rib, at the age of only 14.
Zak fought very hard through his journey, receiving 14 rounds of chemotherapy, surgery which included removing 3 of his ribs and a 6 week course of radiotherapy.
Shortly after, at the end of September 2015, Zak passed away in his mother’s loving arms aged just 15 years old.
Zac’s memory lives on with The Zak Vali Foundation, which is why Zak’s parents, Asif and Karen set up the foundation, to help raise funds to ease the financial burden some families may face when suffering bereavement.
The Zak Vali Foundation are taking part in an event at Eagley Sports Complex on 28th August 2016 and are looking for people to help!
The event is going to be fantastic, with live music, stalls, face painting, raffles and auctions, as well as so much fun for the whole family.
Everyone is welcome to come along to this wonderful event, and all money raised will be split between The Zak Vali Foundation, Make a Wish Foundation and Great Ormond Street Hospital.
