Here at the bestof Bolton, we’ve been gearing up for one of the busiest events in our year, Buy Local Week, which runs between the 3rd and 9th June
People often complain about the death of the high street, but as the old adage goes, if we don’t use them, we lose them. Buy local week is a chance to show your support to local, independent retailers in Bolton.
We’ll be handing out posters and stickers to all our bestof members in Bolton. This is a nationwide campaign though, so wherever you are in the UK you’re sure to spot the distinctive blue stickers.
Locals who go to our bestof Bolton website to pledge their support during Buy Local Week will also be entered into our daily prize draw. Every day, for 7 days, 5 lucky supporters will win £100 to spend at a great thebestof local business. Get pledging and it could be you! Every person is randomly selected.
There will also be a section where you will need to pledge their support (and register) and their profile picture will change to a Buy Local symbol.
We’ve currently got a poll on our Facebook page asking what would encourage you to buy local. Is it nearby parking, opening hours, price or quality of product. Please complete our short survey, it’ll take you less than 10 seconds.
Local shops are more accessible for elderly people who might not be able to travel into the city centre. You can help the environment too, local shops are a lot easier to get to walking then driving in a car. Petrol prices are at an all-time high too, so ditch the four wheels. Buying local keeps jobs in the town.
Also look out for a very *revealing* billboard coming your way very soon…
