Many people wonder what the difference is between Parfum and Toilette. Debbie from Debonaire FM told us exactly what the difference is so we could write this blog for you.
Debonaire FM is ran by Debbie McIntosh, she sells beautiful fragrances, make-up and hair and beauty products at wonderful prices.
Firstly, did you know there’s 4 types of fragrances? They are Parfum, Eau de Parfum, Eau de Toilette and Eau de Cologne.
Now what’s the difference between them all…?
Eau De Cologne is the weakest at only 2-5% concentrate. It’s marketed to men and is the cheapest alternative to other perfume products. As it’s the cheapest, Eau De Cologne lasts up to 2 hours depending on your skin type.
Next there’s Eau de Toilette, which is the most common fragrance sold! Eau de Toilette contains 5-8% of perfume essence. It lasts longer than Eau de Cologne, usually around 2 to 4 hours depending on your skin type.
Eau de Parfum, not to get mixed up with Parfum as its lighter has a concentration of 8-15%. It’s less expensive than Parfum but will still last quite a long time. Usually around 3 to 5 hours depending on your skin type.
The most expensive out of the four is Parfum, which has a concentration of 16-30%, usually at 20%. As it’s more expensive, it lasts a lot longer than other fragrances. Normally around 6-8 hours depending on your skin type.
