BAND was established in 1995 by a group of mental health service users, mental health professionals and Emmanuel Church representative. BAND aims to offer choice and independence to individuals who experience mental health problems through the provision of drop-in centres and special interest groups that offer social, educational and recreational opportunities. BAND supports the people within the Borough of Bolton who live with mental health problems to reach their full potential as defined by themselves, through: the promotion of choice and independence, the provision of support for the individual, the facilitation of education, social and enterprise opportunities, and contributing to the development of services across the mental health economy. BAND is a voluntary mental health organisation, and is a registered charity.
