About
St James’s is a school based in Farnworth in Bolton. They are a Church of England High School and pride themselves on their exceptional academic standards. Which are well above the national average.
St James’s School are the first to be awarded ‘outstanding’ from OFSTED’s judgement for a secondary school in Bolton.
They were awarded Specialist Sports College status in 2005 and their P.E department is always kept to the highest standards possible.
Ethos
St James’s call themselves a family and it’s a phrase they use often. They always try to keep a Christian ethos where everyone is respected and good relationships within the school are a priority.
Awards
Not only were they awarded Specialist Sports College status, they have also won some great awards, such as:
Healthy Schools Award, where schools have to meet the standards in Healthy Eating, Physical Activity, Emotional Health and Wellbeing (including bullying) and Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) (including sex and substance misuse education.)
International School Award, St James’s offer a great range of education for different cultures and celebrate a variety of international events such as Peace One Day, Fair Trade Day and so many more. They also have a fantastic modern languages department and offer a range of educational study visits abroad.
