In November 2001 the congregation of Bolton Family Church had begun meeting in the adjacent Devonshire Road School.
When the United Reformed church closed they were offered the option to purchase the building and in June 2003 the purchase was completed and Bolton Family Church moved in, renaming the building as 'The Grace Centre’. Their congregation includes a number of families and households local to their meeting place.
They also draw in people from a variety of different areas across the town. They have a good age spread within their congregation: children and teenagers, and all ages right through to those who have retired.
They include a variety of households - singles, couples and families, including some single-parent families - and a variety of occupations including students, some on benefit and seeking employment, through to those in professional positions.
Their vision is to be a church embracing many cultures.
